Two of my favorites include: The Fine Art of Dressing: Make Yourself a Masterpiece by Dressing for Your Body Type by Margaux Tartarotti and Body Shape Bible by Trinny Woodall. Both are available to order from Amazon. I also highly recommend watching Clinton Kelly and Stacey London on What Not to Wear (TLC). One of the biggest mistakes I see with stylists writing about plus-size fashion is in thinking that "plus size" is a body type. It s not. Usually they mean the "apple" body type that carries weight in the tummy and breasts with slim shapely legs, flattish bottom. That s only one plus body type. Plus size women can also be curvaceous hour glasses, pear shaped, etc. Styling tricks for an apple isn t going to work all that well for these body types and vice versa.

I m a fan of online dating site, but am a bit biased because I actually met my (now) fiance through an online dating site. So, I know online dating success is possible. Here is the thing about real life, guys are VERY visual!!! And often their visual "list" of who they see themselves with is very limited. However, the online dating site you re currently on is great because they introduce people based on mutual interests, values, goals, etc. It can be very eye-opening to find someone you have so much in common with, and are so attracted to doesn t fit onto the guys previously thought up "list" of who they would have found themselves visually attracted to. However, the eye-opening experience happens when they are introduced via so many similar personality traits, and find themselves physically attracted to the person as well! Originally, in my dating profile I listed I was only interested in men up to a certain age (only a couple of years older than myself). My current fiance was outside of that range. When we connected online, it was first just as friends. Both of us were "outside of the box" of what we previously conceived was attractive to each of us (age wise, etc). The more we got to know each other, the more intense the attraction was! Would we have looked across a bar at each other, and approached each other? I m going to say "no." The key is to be honest in your profile. Put up a current picture, not a picture of you 5 years ago and 15 lbs lighter (this goes for EVERYONE, not just plus-size). Be honest about what you look like, what you re looking for, and where you re at in your life, and that will help avoid those awkward moments of moving from online to offline where the other person is unaware of who you would be or what you would look like. If the website you re on is working for you, stick with it! Just make sure you eventually have the courage to move from offline to online, and when you do that you do it with safety (meet in a public place, etc). Hope some of this helps!
